A warder with the Order of the Benign, Fortitude is an Amerindian Ork of disquieting lifespan; rumors abound to the source of his longevity. Though he provides some of the magical security for the order, he primarily runs a small trade as a warder and caster for others, especially academics. Numerous mundane professors seem to enjoy the annoyance that a psion's wards can sometimes elicit from their hermetic awakened colleagues.

As a long-lived Ork, Fortitude has held a number of other professions; his original training was as a lawyer, and he still has the quality of a barrister's pointed, aggressive questioning -- a quality not reduced by his voracious appetite for news of all kinds, and seldom appreciated, as his insight is seldom tempered by particular care or sensitivity. He was not a trial attorney.
