A trapeze accident nearly killed Jacob Stein, and the lack of insurance meant he had to replace his mangled left leg with a secondhand chrome one; when that one didn't work so well, he found the warranty required him to be the original buyer. His career as a forger started there, but didn't stay in forgery (exclusively): he found that the best things to forge by far were expense statements, particular for Renraku salarymen. He understood, of course, as they always told him, that a Renraku employee would never steal from the corp; merely that certain expenditures, while vital, were best kept discreet. He doesn't really do that sort of work these days, of course -- not after the katana incident -- though he still knows a thing or two about Renraku. No, these days he's completely legitimate, though, of course, if, hypothetically, you were to report these earnings in a subsidiary, then there might be certain tax benefits. And certainly he wouldn't think to question the uncanny resemblance between two of his clients -- after all, they both have different SINs, and lots of people look alike with all that plastic surgery they do these days. The possibility that all of these filings might be for the same person using a number of fake identities? Sounds like you've been watching some wiz trids, omae.
