Backstory

Slade was born to a middle-class family and had his path all laid out. Attending college, his gift for languages landed him a cushy job at Saeder-Krupp as a translator. Still though, he was unhappy, corporate life held no joy for him, and any criticism only angered him. He even thought it was literally driving him mad, hearing a voice nobody else could, catching glimpses of a man wearing armor out of the corner of his vision.

One day, it all boiled over. With a surge of power he didn't know he had, he picked up his supervisor and threw him through a cubicle wall. When security tried to detain him, he knocked him out with a wave of his hand. He knew then, that battle called to him, gave him the satisfaction that normal life would not give him. As he exited the building, he saw his mentor spirit fully, a man that he recognized as an ancient Norse god.

His spirit led him to Hof Gym, where a paganist taught him of the Norse religion, how to fight, and more importantly how to harness his new magical prowess. His teacher introduced him to the runner life, where he would be able to find wealth, and seek Valhalla.

Appearance and Style

• Meat: Big guy, broad shouldered, with a large beard. Has piercing blue eyes and a Mjolnir necklace. Confident demeanor.
• Astral form: Very similar to meat, wearing Viking armor and his amulet glows brightly
• Astral signature: Red runic inscriptions

Personality

Slade's gone perhaps too far the other direction from corporate doublespeak. He would rather use 'Kidnapping' than 'Extraction'. He's a generally cheery guy, that is fearless in battle.

Motivations

He's in it for the thrill, the money, and because his religion honors death in battle. He probably will go for the Noble Sacrifice, when the time is right
